Great Argument for a Walkable City by Chris Tate

I challenge you to take about 16 minutes to watch this video on #walkable #cities.  This is a great argument for a walkable city.  Watch it for the children, watch it for America, watch it for yourself.  Then... get involved!

For the last 15 years, I have lived in a walkable neighborhood.  I've been able to slide on my flip-flops and walk to the shops I need most such as grocery stores, drug stores, banks, restaurants and more.  I've lived 2 blocks away from the San Diego Trolley and one block away from a major hardware store.  In my opinion, because of these walkable environments, my life has been less stressful, more healthy and more economical than had I lived in a non-walkable neighborhood.  Shopping has been a breeze, I've gotten exercise and saved money on transportation.   You do not have to agree with me, but I believe, there is no better way to live than in an area that has enough mix of the things you need within an easy short walk.

If you would like to discuss walkable cities/neighborhoods with me or work on a walkability project together, please feel free contact me.

Cinnamon Rolls With Mom by Chris Tate

Last Wednesday I got together with Mom and  we spent the day baking and chasing around our new puppy.  It was a nice day.  We worked on our #cinnamonroll recipe.  These came out better than the last but we still need to change a few things.  We did get the most important thing right, which was achieving that chewy flaky #bread.  I think next time we'll nail it.

Morning by Chris Tate

I started my day with some #swimming.  Floating in the water looking up at blue sky and puffy white clouds oh yeah, that's the way to do it!

Four Requirements for a Bikeable Community by Chris Tate

All of these requirements are vital.  I particularly like convenience and the 20 minute neighborhood where #plans and #zoning ensure everyday destinations like work, school, stores, services, etc. are within convenient biking distances.  It just has to be simple and practical to work.

Labor Day Weekend by Chris Tate

We spent Labor Day Weekend with Grandpa at PGA West in La Quinta. We had a great time, as always. We had great food, great company, tore threw the neighborhood on a golf cart, hit some tennis balls and much more.  Check out some of the #tennis courts.

Allow Me to Introduce Myself by Chris Tate

Hello and welcome to my personal blog.  My Name is Christopher Tate and I created this blog to share my passions.  What are my passions? I am passionate about photography, urban design, artisan bread, gardening, the game of tennis, commercial real estate investments, commercial real estate finance, my friends and family and some other things. Right now, I'm focusing my photography on landscapes and street photography.  I enjoy studying urban design and believe in green-walkable neighborhoods.  I also study urban safety as I have been involved in security for over thirteen years.  My mother is a Scandinavian who happened to be born in Minnesota and she has been baking breads all my life... yes, I was a spoiled kid who grew up eating those amazing Scandinavian cinnamon rolls mmmmm, I can never forget those wonderful smells of fresh baked bread and cinnamon in the air as a kid.  So I have a thing for hand crafted breads made with heart & soul.  My Mother-in-law is a master gardener and she helped me get started gardening a couple years ago.  I enjoy spending time in the garden tending to the plants and eating fresh fruits and veggies from our garden.  Tennis is one of my favorite sports.  I enjoy both playing and watching the great sport.  I have been a licensed California real estate broker since 2006.   I have a Bachelors degree in real estate from San Diego State University.  I have been active in many facets of real estate.  I have helped many clients with their real estate and real estate finance needs.  I practice commercial real estate finance and am here to assist my family of clients wit their commercial finance needs.  My friends are very important to me.  I love my wife, my mother and my whole family. Thanks for reading, I'm excited about being able to share my passions with you!
