The Lens Hood Experiment Went Well by Chris Tate

I haven't loaded the shots I took without the lens hood into lightroom yet, but from what I was seeing on my LCD screen, the shots look great! I also noticed the camera was shooting a lot faster and, without the hood making the camera bigger, it was more stealthy, less noticeable on the streets.  I really don't like the idea of not having a hood on because it guards the lens and it will do its job occasionally blocking out the sun, but the performance of the x100s without the hood is amazing and I'm gonna keep shooting that way with it.  My lens will be fine!

Making My Own Picture Frames by Chris Tate

A while back I started wanting to design and make picture frames. I've bought a picture framing book and done some research since then. I'm on google looking at some nice frames. I need some tools and to do some more research, but I plan on one day making some of my own frames. Hopefully I'll have one made up in the near future.

Shooting Film by Chris Tate

I took out a Contax T2 a couple weeks ago and ima tell you, after looking at the film that was developed from my shots, I am totally into film now. I do like some of the digital advantages over film but film has a certain artistic quality I don't believe digital quiet has.

Downtown LA Play by Chris Tate

I gotta get down to downtown Los Angeles more often. It was like a playground. I touched down there about 3pm yesterday. I got the camera ready to go then it started drizzling so I made the call to put away the Fuji and get out the iPhone. About 4 the rain stopped, I got the Fuji back out and captured some real good real solid street shots. Smiles smiles all day real happy happy!

My Baby by Chris Tate

On 5/10/15 my wonderful wife gave birth to our daughter Charlotte Marie Tate.  I'm very excited to now be a father and feel so much joy.  Holding Charlotte for the first time was an incredible experience. I love my daughter! I love my family!
